| It's
hard to pin this one down. At times Industrial, other times, New Wave, this
debut disc from England's Bloc Party is like a breath of fresh air. In this age of pre-programmed, corporate radio (at least in the US), Bloc Party smashes through your speakers with a fierceness and an urgency that sadly hasn't been felt in a long time. Here's hoping there's more to come from them soon. |

| Earnest.
That's the best way I can describe this album. Bloc Party is a great
group, full of energetic playing and talented musicians. I just wish they'd lighten up a bit. Depending on the mood, this album can either help you get your frustrations out or cause you to become extremely paranoid. So, whatever floats yer boat . . . . I just hope that they stop taking themselves too seriously. I mean, look at what happened to U2 in the late 80s. |
