A great Power Pop quartet from Australia that knows how to rock. My only gripe is that this is an EP, not a

I Like It Like That
It's kind of difficult to see that the Dave Clark Five actually gave The Beatles a run for their money back in
1964-65, but they did. Good time party music for the early 60s, but not the culturally defining stuff that the
Fab Four accomplished. Still, when all is said and done the DC5 knew how to rock.

A local band (from Pennsylvania - okay, pseudo-local since I'm in Akron, Ohio) with a very strong release.
Got tons of airplay from the local non-commercial radio station. Deservedly so, too. What a great record!

My band's debut!! I finally did it!!!!! Modesty prohibits me from bragging, but I think it's a damn good effort.

Color Me Gone
Color Me Gone
1984 A & M Records
Lose Control
Calm Before the Storm
Hideaway
Almost Heaven
Hurtin' You
July / December
Local Akron band with a major label signing! Color Me Gone featured Marti Jones, who went on to marry
Don Dixon (producer, R.E.M., Let's Active), and became a sort of wandering minstrel. She occasionally
performs and records, but mainly stays around the homestead these days (Canton, Ohio, actually). Anyway,
A & M released this EP, liked Marti and talked her into canning the band. Her solo career then foundered.
Should've stayed with the band - they were very good.

Colorvine
Colorvine
1995 Mark Avenue Records
Steroid
Walls
Therapy
Hangnail
Watertown
Run
Vein in Vain
Moonlight
Relate
All the Things
Bankrupt
Another band from Akron, Ohio, who unfortunately only released one album and called it quits shortly
afterwards. A hybrid of grunge and Chili Pepper funk - very interesting and quite good.

*** A brush with greatness here: Larry Saltis (vocals, guitar) is the same Larry Saltis of the New
Monkees
! Something I'm sure he would not admit and will never live down. But I liked 'em! ***

The Colour Field
The Colour Field

Two Lips from Amsterdam
One of the four 'Nu-Disks' that Epic put out in 1980. After searching for over 20 years, I found this in a used
record store in Akron, Ohio. Great New Wave Power Pop!

Black Angel
Wonderfully psychedelic, they left the gothic stuff behind. Mostly, anyway. And this was before they decided
they were just another metal band.
