Ah, the beginnings of New Wave. The Cars were one of the best New Wave groups around. Ric Ocasek's
flat baritone, Greg Hawke's cheesy keyboards, Ben Orr's good looks (and voice to match) . . . all the
elements for originality and success present in their debut disc.

My favourite Cars album, this one rocks from the get go. Great songs, fantastic hooks, and a great marriage
of art and commerically successful music. A definite must have for any record collection.

Panorama

Gimme Some Slack
Don't Tell Me No
Getting Through

Down Boys
You Wear Those Eyes
Running to You
Up and Down
I love this album for the fact that The Cars were flying in the face of convention and did what they wanted to
do. Commerical suicide to be sure, but artistically it was wonderful. Very futuristic and unlike anything they've
done before.

A Dream Away
This Could Be Love
Think It Over
Maybe Baby
Because of the commercial lambasting they got for Panorama, The Cars decided to go back to their old
formula. Trouble was, they forgot what that was and ended up embarking on the road to Top 40 'success'
with this record. Overall, not a bad batch of songs; it just lacks the excitement of the first two.

Heartbeat City
An unusual album. Commercially successful, it followed the formula but overall it just didn't have the punch as
their first two albums had.
