You'll Be the Scarcrow
A melancholy man, is E. But a great debut nonetheless. Thoughtful, well-crafted pop songs that stick with
you for a long time.

A wonderful BritPop group. Too bad the US was too stupid to get into this group.

Vaseline
At the beginning of the Brit Pop movement, this band emerged with a VERY punk attitude to their music.
Immediate, in-your-face songs that slapped you around - and we thanked them for it! Too bad they couldn't
carry it over to their other releases, but for this one brief moment in time, it was great!

Electrafixion

1995 Sire Records
Feel My Pulse
Sister Pain
Lowdown
Timebomb

Mirrorball
Who's Been Sleeping in

Hit By Something
Bed of Nails
Instead of reforming Echo & the Bunnymen, Ian McCulloch and Will Sargent decided to do a new group.
Hence, Electrafixion. Funny how they sounded exactly like Echo. After several concerts where they added
a few Echo tunes they decided to stop avoiding the inevitable and reformed Echo & the Bunnymen. And the
fans breathed a collective sigh of relief.

The English Beat
Special Beat Service
1982 IRS Records
I Confess
Jeanette
Sorry
Soel Salvation
Spar Wid Me
Rotating Head
Save It For Later
She's Going
Pato and Roger a Go Talk
Sugar & Stress
End of the Party
Ackee 1 & 2
A fantastic New Wave-Ska group. Great hooks, but if you can't get around the reggae-esque vocal stylings
of Ranking Roger, then just stick with the singles.

The Escape Club
White Fields
1986 EMI Records
The Push
Sound of the City
Fall
Where Angels Cry
I Will Be There
Blood & Water
The Hard Way
White Fields
Resuce Me
Slow Train
A fantastic debut, one of my Top 3 records for 1986! How they could release this incredible batch of songs
and then turn around and release the crap they did for the remainder of their career ('Wild Wild West,'
'Dollars & Sex') is beyond me. But at least we have this gem.

Eurogliders
Absolutely
1986 Columbia Records
Can't Wait to See You
The City of Soul
What Kind of Fool
So Tough
We Will Together
Absolutely
Jesse
Moving Away
Enough Love
Another New Wave group with one hit and nothing much else to offer. But that hit ('Can't Wait to See You') -
oh, what a hit!

Everything But
the Girl

Amplified Heart
1994 Atlantic Records
Rollercoaster
Troubled Mind
I Don't Understand Anything
Walking to You
Get Me
Missing
two Star
We Walk the Same Line
25th December
Disenchanted

CD Bonus Track:
Missing (Ext. Dance Mix)
Ambient dance music at its best. Totally English, totally brilliant, and mostly ignored in the US. Save for the
re-mix of 'Missing.'

Eve's Plumb
Cherry Alive
1995 Epic Records
Jesus Loves You (not as
..... ..... ........ much as i do)
Wishing the Day Away
Want You Bad
Loved By You
Fairy Princess
Cherry Alive
Lipstuck
Sticky and Greasy
Beautiful
Serious Stuff
Dog in My Heart
Only Anger
Alright! This is one of my desert island discs -- great Power Pop with an edge. Add some melodies and it
rocks harder than their first! Very radio friednly if there were some intelligent people in the radio biz.
Unfortunately there weren't, so Eve's Plumb called it a day after this record. What a crime.

The Evidence
The Evidence
1986 Midnight Records
Oceans Apart
You Punish Me
Punch the Clock
Actions Speak Louder
City of Sin
A great little combo from Cleveland, Ohio. Power Pop at its regional best - one of a slew of EP's released
by local bands in the 80's.
