Their Sgt. Pepper. And since Jeff Lynne is a huge Beatles nut, that is probably what he set out to do. Hit after hit, fantastic production -- this is a must have for all serious music fans.

Everything you'd ever need to know about ELO. Except maybe some more early stuff that really rocked, but
these are the radio favourites.

Some very astute local music journalist, back upon this album's release in 1979, noticed that the title of this
ELO album very succinctly described the musical style of this record. Disco-very. How right he was. ELO
joined the disco bandwagon and totally soiled their great pop legacy. Or so I thought at the time when I was
14. Now, many years later, it's still a very disco-y record, but the tunes do maintain some pop sensibilities.
So with age comes wisodom. And mellowness - it ain't that bad a record.

A wonderful record after the crass commercialism of their last effort. Thoughtful, artful, and only one
commerical tune in the bunch ('Hold On Tight') that didn't really fit in with the rest of the record. One of my
favourite ELO albums.

Really just a Jeff Lynne solo album. But since his last one (Armchair Theater, 1990) didn't sell, Lynne
figured he'd capitalise on the nostalgic popularity of ELO and released this as an ELO record. Nothing really
to write home about, but it is cool for the fact that some of the last work George Harrison did is on this
album.
